Fort Hancock Senior Alejandro Figueroa has been named a Texas Leadership Scholar and will receive a full ride to the University of Texas El Paso. The Texas Leadership Scholars program is a premier scholarship initiative.

Students selected for the program receive financial support to attend a top Texas university and benefit from a peer network, mentoring, and more. Over 2,000 students applied to the program, and only 300 scholars were selected. Alejandro is the salutatorian of the Class of 2024 and a dual credit student. His leadership characteristics are evident in his actions and his outstanding scholastic ability. Congratulations Alejandro.
